Twilight the Movie Review

Today I went to see Twilight with 3 of my girlfriends. We are all huge fans and we were not disappointed. One of my friends, we'll call her Hannah (and she knows why), really didn't like Rob Pattinson being cast as Edward but even she was convinced by the end of the movie that he was perfect for the roll. The cinematography was breathtaking and the music fit perfectly. I really thought they cast it great -- I even ended up liking Jasper who I thought was a little too weird. I left the theater feeling so wonderful after it was over even though the last scene gave you a peek at a possible problem. They changed very little from the book and the stuff they did change didn't really seem to make a big difference. There is one thing they did that might cause a problem in the next movie if they stick exactly to the book -- which they never do. I won't elaborate since I don't want to ruin anyone's experience. There were a couple things that seemed a little goofy - Edward's running was one of those but the glittering effect in the sun more than made up for that. Stephenie Meyer even had a cameo appearance at the cafe! I even think the few men in the audience enjoyed it too -- the scene in the ballet studio and the baseball game were awesome and action packed so I'm sure that helped their enjoyment.

My favorite scene was the first kiss and I think my favorite character (besides Edward of course) is Charlie. He was perfect and there's this one scene where he's getting ready to meet Edward for the first time (well, formally anyway) and he's cleaning a gun. He clicks it back together and tells Bella to go ahead and introduce him. That just cracks me up! Carlise caused some shuddering in a seat near me too! My favorite line was "you are my life now" -- gosh that tingled me all the way to my toes!!

You must go see this movie! I might even go see it again and you can bet I'm buying this DVD the day it's released. This one might even get more playtime than any of my HPs!! And that's saying something!

I loved it too!!!

The scene with Charlie and the gun reminded me of my hubby when the girls brought home a boy!

I want to see it again.

I loved it, too! I want to see it again... and again! And maybe one more time, LOL

And I also love Jasper! I've actually have had a bit of a soft spot for him while reading the books. I thought he was great in the movie... a but underutilized though. Would have liked to see more of him and Alice. And there is one scene in the book between Jasper and Bella that is so touching but it was not in the movie! :(

Oh boy...I imagined you lined up to see the movie last Thursday midnight! I wish I could have gone with you. Although I resisted reading the book and had a hard time getting into it, I was finally hooked. Last Saturday, Larry came home from B.A.M. with the other 3 books. I asked at the library when I picked up my library card if they had the 2nd book. The gal said, "Yes, you and 300 other women are on the waiting list for it." B.A.M. was the answer to that. I couldn't wait that long! I'm going to see the movie sometime this week. Thanks so much for your review. I only wish I could have been one of the gals who went with you to the movie. So, here's my question... It's okay that we older women are hooked since it's being advertised as sort of a tweeny movie? I'm gonna go with a yes on that. Sometimes I feel like a tweeny.

I haven't seen it yet even though my hubby promised to take me when it opened. I'm SO holding him to it this weekend. LOL

How did everything go Thanksgiving week? I know it was going to be a busy one for you.

Embarrassed to say I'm a Four-timer. Absolutely in love w/ Edward... "I don't have the strength...to stay away from you any longer..." AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHGh.

Also: Not bad on the eyes: Emmett. Who may or may not star in Hilary Duff's "With Love" video. Which I most definately didn't watch 3 times today.
